COVID-19 Precautions
Beyond the way homes are toured, we are currently NOT seeing COVID-19 have a significant impact on our local Real Estate market or negative impact on pricing. The National Association of Realtors has published a GUIDE for those involved in RE transactions.
In addition to this guide, we suggest the following:
SELLERS
Please follow CDC Recommendations
Please keep your home well staged and clean. The more sterile your environment is, the more comfortable your prospective buyers will be while touring your home.
Consider leaving all lights on and cupboard doors open, to minimize the need for buyers to touch your home surfaces
We will be requesting a copy of each buyer’s approval letter prior to scheduling a showing, to minimize tire kickers and unqualified buyers.
We will be asking buyer’s agents if they or their clients have shown signs of illness in the last 14 days
We will be asking if the buyer or the buyer’s agent have been out of the country in the last 14 days.
We will be asking what the buyer’s source of income is and about their job stability.
Showings for your home will be by appointment only with a 10-minute gap between showings.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas before you leave your home for showings and when you return.
BUYERS
If you are ill, please stay home. We are available to tour homes on your behalf and can stay connected with you via Facetime and other online resources.
Masks are REQUIRED
Screen listings carefully before deciding to schedule a showing.
Review google maps and check out the surrounding areas.
Pay attention to square footage and listed amenities to make sure the home has the potential to meet your needs.
Consider the improvements the home may need and if those improvements are within your budget.
Ask questions! If you would like more information about a home, just ask us. We are here to help. If the home is at the top of your price range consider the seller's Motivation and Ability.
While touring homes, we want to continue to Woo Sellers, so show up on time, avoid contact with frequently touched areas. Remember, many homeowners have in-home surveillance cameras. Wash your hands and follow CDC Recommendations between showings and while touring homes.
Here are additional guidelines from Governor Inslee on real estate transactions.
